Ministers of the Interior in FBiH guarantee peace and security to the citizens

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 20 (FENA) - A working meeting of the Coordination of Ministers of the Interior in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, convened by the FBiH Minister Aljoša Čampara, was held today at the Police Academy of the FBiH Ministry of the Interior (FBiH MoI).

The Ministers of Internal Affairs in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stressed that they guarantee peace and security to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and condemn the statements of all individuals calling for the violation of the constitutional and legal structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The police structures in the Federation of BiH will not fall for the war-inciting messages of the president of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, and they will not become partners of the SNSD in raising tensions and destabilizing Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ministers of the Interior especially emphasize that the security system of the Federation of BiH has sufficient capacity to oppose the appearance of all forms of criminal behavior, even those directed against the constitutional order, with the state security apparatus, and call on police structures and competent judicial bodies to prevent any incidents of destructive behavior," it is stated in the press statement from the meeting.

The ministers emphasized that they are aware that the migrant crisis is a problem of all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that certain parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina must not be the only ones to suffer the pressures caused by the migrant crisis.

"The ministers of the interior are determined to alleviate the pressure they face by joint cooperation and initiating the exchange of human capacities, which bear the greatest burden of the migrant crisis. The ministers call on the competent state bodies to better manage the migrant crisis and to take into account the interests of local communities."

They said they would continue police reform in the Federation of BiH, which includes amendments to all internal affairs laws and the law on police officers at the Federation of BiH and cantonal levels.

The ministers are committed to drafting, adopting and implementing harmonized legislation and in this context will ask international partners, in particular, the Embassy of the United States of America and the Office of the High Representative to be actively involved in the process of police reform in the Federation of BiH.
