SARAJEVO, October 21 (FENA) - Exhibition “Wake up Europe! Support and solidarity mobilizations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens during the 1992-1995 war” was opened yesterday at the BiH History Museum, the institution said.
The exhibition provides a historical overview of the actions through which the citizens of Europe expressed their support and solidarity with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and helped its inhabitants during the war. Through original materials, documents and photographs, it describes ordinary people, informal groups, artists and cities, who in difficult times, decided to stand by Bosnia and Herzegovina and its civic, multicultural and multiethnic values.
As one of the goals of the exhibition was to encourage the audience to think about that - what we mean by solidarity today and how much we do about it and whether we do it at all, the exhibition also presents two works of art, by authors Selma Banich and Marijana Hameršak, dedicated to people who are on a migrant journey in the Balkans.
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina Margret Uebber, First Advisor to the Ambassador of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Xavier Rouard, writer Ferida Duraković and Director of the History Museum of BiH, Elma Hašimbegović addressed at the exhibition.
The exhibition is a project of the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Memory Lab, supported by the Goethe Institute Bosnia and Herzegovina and the French Institute Bosnia and Herzegovina, and financed within the Franco-German Cultural Fund.
The exhibition can be visited until mid-December, stated the BiH History Museum.
