SARAJEVO, November 15 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda signed today with the Head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Matteo Rivellini and Advisor to the Bank's Management Board Martin Vatter an agreement on a European Union grant in the amount of five million euros to support the construction of part of the motorway on the Corridor Vc.
The agreement on technical assistance for the needs of supervising the construction of the subsection Zvirovići - Počitelj was signed by the director of the Public Company "Motorways of the Federation of BiH" Elmedin Voloder because this company will be in charge of project implementation and grants awarded by the EU will be implemented through the EIB and allocated to the Federation of BiH.
Bevanda emphasized that this is a continuation of good cooperation with the EIB and thanked the European Union, which supports infrastructure projects in BiH from its funds.
"We expect that this technical assistance will accelerate the construction of about 11.1 kilometers long section on the Corridor Vc between Počitelj and Bijača. The completion of this project, for which loan funds have been previously secured, will significantly shorten the distance along the north-south corridor, between Počitelj and the southern border with Croatia," Bevanda pointed out.
The agreement was signed correspondently, without the usual ceremonies, due to epidemiological measures to prevent the spread of COVID pandemic, stated the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
