BRUSSELS, November 15 (FENA) – EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has expressed concern that some politicians in BiH are using the rhetoric of divisions.
"I must reiterate that we support a united and sovereign BiH and call on all political leaders to sit at the negotiating table," Borrell said after a meeting of EU foreign ministers on the Western Balkans and the situation in BiH.
Borrell has expressed concern that BiH leaders are not using the non-election year to agree to change election legislation, Hina reports.
The meeting was also attended by Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, who criticized those in BiH who are delaying the agreement on changing the election legislation because, as he said, time is running out since next year is an election year.
"It is crucial to change the election law, which will guarantee what was agreed by the Dayton Peace Agreement, equality and legitimate representation of the constituent peoples in the collective institutions of BiH," Grlić Radman said.
He added that several member state ministers supported his presentation.
When asked by a journalist whether Dodik is a Croatian friend or a problem, Radman Grlić answered that it is a simplified view.
"It is a black and white view of the matter. Dodik is a fact and should be discussed. Croatia should discuss this matter especially as it has the longest border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are directed to each other and we must invest all forces, diplomatic and political capacities to contribute to a stable, prosperous and functional BiH," said the Croatian foreign minister.
