BRČKO, November 16 (FENA) - Mayor of the Brčko District of BiH Esed Kadrić and the head of the Department for Communal Affairs Majazudin Vehabović discussed road and communal infrastructure in the Brčko District on Tuesday at a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić and Deputy Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nedžad Branković.
Considering that Brčko occupies a central geographical and traffic connection in the construction of road infrastructure and gas pipelines that will be on the corridors through the District, Mayor Kadrić informed Prime Minister Novalić about the development of the spatial plan so far when it comes to the implementation of the signed agreement on the implementation of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway project, and announced a meeting between the two prime ministers and the District Government on this issue, the Brčko District Government announced.
The Mayor informed the Prime Minister about the activities of the District Government, especially when it comes to raising the economic activity of the local community, and they also talked about the attitude of the entities towards the District. They also discussed the distribution of financial assistance by the MFF, in which Brčko was left out.
“Prime Minister Novalić has already committed himself to allocating a part of the money from the FBiH budget. There are also agreements with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republika Srpska on providing assistance, i.e. one part of the funds would be compensation for the omission of the District in the distribution of IMF funds,” the Mayor pointed out.
He added that the Federation intends to work on the project of the gas pipeline Županja-Orašje-Brčko-Tuzla and further towards Kladanj.
Novalić also visited the new premises of the Office of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina located in Brčko, which will enable more direct cooperation between the institutions of the FBiH and the District in the implementation of the aforementioned projects.
