SARAJEVO, November 24 (FENA) - Miners who have been protesting in front of the FBiH Government building in Sarajevo since yesterday spent the night in the open and today, as they say, they continue to protest, persisting in their demands.

During the night, the citizens of Sarajevo brought blankets and food to the miners of seven mines in the Federation of BiH who are part of the Elektroprivreda BiH concern. They again invited all workers and citizens to support them and join them in Hamdija Čemerlića Street.

This street is also blocked today.

The Government formed a negotiating team last night to hold talks with miners' representatives, but the miners refused to negotiate, saying they do not intend to negotiate their demands.

The Independent Trade Union of the FBiH Coal Mine Workers previously stated that the basic salary of diggers in the pit, according to this new Rulebook, has been reduced from the current 850 KM to 570 KM.

The main demands of the miners were the repeal of the disputed regulations, the dismissal of the director-general of Elektroprivreda BiH and the directors of the coal mines within the concern, and setting of a minimum salary of 1,000 KM in the mining sector in the FBiH.

President of the Independent Trade Union of Mine Workers of FBiH, Sinan Husić, said today that they would not give up their demands and that this is the moment when "they must not be defeated".
