SARAJEVO, November 28 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović convened an emergency session of that House on Monday, November 29, at which the request of five delegates to convene an emergency session should be considered.

Last week, delegates in the House of Peoples of the state parliament, Denis Bećirović, Zlatko Miletić, Amir Fazlić, Munib Jusufović and Asim Sarajlić, submitted a request to the speaker and deputy speakers of that house, Dragan Čović, Nikola Špirić and Bakir Izetbegović, to convene an emergency session of the House of Peoples.

They request that the first item on the agenda be considered "Information of the Collegium of the House of Peoples of the PABiH on the reasons for blocking the work of the highest legislative body of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special reference to the legal basis for blocking the work of this state body."

Delegate Denis Bećirović said at a press conference last week that the Dayton Peace Agreement does not allow any of its annexes to block the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. He added that the Constitution of BiH does not have a single provision that speaks about the blockade of the Parliament of BiH, "so there is no such permission."

He reminded that the Rules of Procedure of both the House of Peoples and the House of Representatives clearly prescribe that sessions must be held at least once a month.

The last session of the House of Peoples of the state parliament was held in early July.
