SARAJEVO, December 2 (FENA) - The Minister for Europe in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Michael Roth handed over 53 dehumidifiers to the Sarajevo Canton Civil Protection Administration for the facilities affected by the recent floods in the Sarajevo Canton.
The value of the German donation is 50,000 euros, and for Minister Roth, he says, this is just a small sign of solidarity, because Germany wants to help those most affected by the floods to return to their homes as soon as possible.
"The value of Europe is in solidarity and that is of great importance for everyone. And those who seem strong sometimes need help. Friendship is shown in crisis situations," said Minister Roth.
He reminded that Germany was hit by large-scale floods this year and there were many victims, but through this catastrophe, solidarity came to the fore, a sincere desire to help people in need.
"The first to contact Berlin and Germany, wanting to help, were people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I thank everyone for that. It just shows that in times of crisis we have to be united. Whether it is floods, catastrophes or a pandemic," Minister Roth pointed out.
Today's handover of the dryers was also attended by Roth's associates, Bundestag member Adis Ahmetović, Western Balkans Officer Christian Hattendorff and German Ambassador to BiH Margaret Uebber.
