BRČKO, December 6 (FENA) - Considering the decades-long bypassing of roads construction in the Tuzla Canton, the meeting in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where road infrastructure was one of the main topics, is considered a significant step forward by TC Prime Minister Kadrija Hodžić.
"We have made a significant approach to unblocking of this process today," said Hodžić after the meeting with the delegation of the FBiH Government led by Prime Minister Fadil Novalić.
The first project they talked about was the Tuzla-Brčko-Orašje motorway.
This is very important for us because so far we have not had a meter of motorways, and the structure of main roads is very scarce, said Hodžić, stating that today was the first time to set deadlines for introductory project documentation.
The second project involves the electrification of the Doboj-Tuzla-Brčko railway, and Hodžić also considers it important for the Tuzla Canton, given its energy and mining potential, which is one of the largest in the country.
The third project is the gasification of Tuzla, and Hodžić says that this was the first time it has been mentioned, but that it is certainly a welcome opportunity.
The Mayor of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović, says that since 2002, there has been talking of a road unblocking of northeastern Bosnia and that it would be good to start with that next year.
"It would be good for the deputies in the FBiH Parliament to vote for this investment of 135 million KM in order to supplement the conceptual design and do part of the main project," said Imamović.
