Members of Ravna Gora Chetnik Movement to buy out their sentence for hate crime in Višegrad

SARAJEVO, January 31 (FENA) - Dušan Sladojević and Slavko Aleksić are buying out the five-month prison sentences that they received for inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance in the area of Višegrad and its surroundings in March 2019, it was confirmed for Balkan Investigative Reporting Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIRN BiH).

The State Court told BIRN BiH that an order was issued for Risto Lečić, who was sentenced to five months, to serve a prison sentence, while Sladojević and Aleksić were allowed to buy out their sentences.

At the end of January of this year, on the Instagram profile "Chetnička omladina Gacko" (The Chetnik Youth of Gacko), an announcement of the Association of Ravna Gora Movements of veterans and disabled organizations of the liberation wars of Serbia in which they are asking for financial help in collecting money to pay off the sentence of their members.

"At the request of the lawyer, the court replaced the prison sentence with a fine for all three indictees, and that they pay 15,000 KM each within 30 days of the final decision, which in this case is February 9, 2023.

Lawyer Aleksandar Čokeša told BIRN BiH that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a decision on praying off of the sentence, but that he still does not know whether the sentence has been redeemed.

According to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, each day of the prison sentence costs 100 KM.

Dušan Sladojević did not want to comment on the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The verdict of the Third-instance Council established that Sladojević, Aleksić and Lečić, with their activities at the gathering of "Ravna Gora Chetnik Movement in Višegrad, glorified the Chetnik movement and Draža Mihailović, and with songs expressing threats and violence in their lyrics, committed the criminal offense of "inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance".
