Defense Minister heads Slovenian delegation in visit to EUFOR General Staff

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) – Slovenian Defense Minister Andreja Katič visited the EUFOR Main Command in Sarajevo, where she was greeted by the EUFOR Commander, Major General Anton Waldner with whom she discussed the current security situation in BiH, as well as the role of EUFOR in supporting BiH authorities in maintaining a safe and stable environment.

Ms. Katič was accompanied by the Slovenian Ambassador, chief of General Staff of Slovenia and members of the Slovenian Parliamentary Defense Commission.

Slovenian military personnel serve in EUFOR in the area of operations and significantly contribute to the performance of EUFOR military tasks, regardless of the fact that their country is one of the smaller countries participating in the mission.

Slovenia is one of a total of 14 EU member states and five partner countries whose soldiers serve in EUFOR, working closely with the BiH law enforcement agencies and the Armed Forces to maintain a safe and stable environment in the country on its road to a European future, EUFOR stated.
