MOSTAR, Jan 18 (FENA) - Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chen Bo, accompanied by the BiH Presidency Chairman’s wife, Bernadica Covic, and associates, visited on Thursday the "Vedri osmjeh" (“Happy Smile”) Association from Mostar.
On the occasion, Ambassador Bo pointed out her satisfaction with having chance to visit the Association again, whose work was financially supported by the Chinese Embassy.
-Two years ago, I visited the Association for the first time. Then the people who work in the Association and their caring for children with disabilities made a strong and deep impression on me - she added.
President of the Association, Danijela Kegelj, said that the interior of the building had been equipped by the donated amount of KM 7500.
- The space in which we are has been restored through European projects and donor funds. It has a living room for ten young people over the age of 18, who did not find a place in other institutions after completing secondary education.
She underlined that people with disabilities, through retraining system, should be enabled to perform various tasks.
She reminded that the "Vedri osmjeh" Association was registered as a social enterprise, where three people with disabilities worked.
Pointing out the importance of the Association that takes care of the sensitive population group, Mrs Covic expressed thanks for the significant donation.
- Special attention and patience should be paid to the children with disabilities because they should be enabled to assimilate in society, therefore this donation is of great importance - she added.
To remind, the Embassy of China in Sarajevo, with Ambassador Chen Bo at the head, donates funds for the second consecutive year to the following associations: "Happy Smile", "Down syndrome", "Mary Our Hope" from Široki Brijeg and Caritas Center " Holy Family " from Mostar.
