SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) – A delegation of the Sarajevo Canton, led by the Speaker of the Assembly, Ana Babić, laid flowers today at the site of the massacre in Bosanska Street no.4, in memory of six Sarajevo children killed while sledding by the aggressor army 24 years ago, stated the SC Press Service.
The criminals ended a carefree children’s game by firing three shells from the positions in Nedžarići, killing five-year-old Jasmina Brković, twelve-year-old Indira Brković, eight-year-old Mirza Dedović, eleven-year-old Danijel Jurenić, thirteen-year-old Nermin Rizvanović and seven-year-old Admir Subašić. Six more children were severely or lightly wounded.
Families of killed children, neighbors and fellow citizens, numerous delegations, representatives of the Association of Parents of Killed Children in Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, the Association of Civil War Victims of the SC, as well as the primary school "Meša Selimović", gathered today at the site of the massacre with tears in their eyes, laid flowers and marked the sad anniversary with a minute of silence and prayer.
“There are photographs of this massacre which show the red snow. That is enough to tell what kind of a crime was committed here. It is the evidence that the criminals were murdering our children planned and targeted, with the intent, because there were no military objects or targets here. Therefore, everything is clear. We are here to pay tribute and keep the truth from being forgotten, not to tell lies and spread hatred,” said Fikret Grabovica, president of the Association of Parents of Killed Children in Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995.
He added that he expects that, apart from Stanislav Galić and Dragomir Milošević, Ratko Mladić and Radovan Karadžić, perpetrators for this and numerous other crimes against children and civilians in Sarajevo will be prosecuted under command responsibility.
