SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - Contracts on the construction works on the main road Neum - Stolac, Neum-Kiševo-Broćanac section, were signed today in Sarajevo.
The construction should begin next month and will last up to a year.
The construction of this section will be financed from the European Investment Bank and World Bank loan funds, and it is divided into two lots. The first will be built by “Integral Engineering” from Laktaši and the second consortium is consisted of the companies “HP Investing” from Mostar and “Putovi” from Grude.
After today's signing of the contracts in Sarajevo, Director of the Public Enterprise the FBiH Roads Ljubo Pravdić said that this is the beginning of the Roads Modernization Program of the main roads in the Federation of BiH, which was supposed to start earlier, but was conditioned by the entry into force of the Law on Excise Tax.
“In the next 15 days we expect to sign another big contract for continuing the construction of the Karaula tunnel, on the main road M18. In addition, we got bids for the five bridges under the Roads Modernization Program, also the Crnaja tunnel for which we will get the offer in February,” said Pravdić.
He pointed out that the World Bank and the European Investment Bank approved a tender to continue the construction of the Žaba tunnel with access road, and the signing of the contract is expected in May 2018.
“We are taking on a momentum and we expect the effectiveness of the loan from the EBRD, and the goal is to build bypasses around the cities,” said Pravdić.
The value of the contract for the construction of the Neum-Stolac seciton is 11.9 million KM.
