Exhibition 'Crystal Night' organized to remember the suffering of Jewish people

SARAJEVO, January 26 (FENA) – An exhibition entitled “Crystal Night” was held today at the Jewish Museum of BiH in Sarajevo, as a contribution to marking the January 27, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The exhibition is also a reminder of the night (between November 9 and 10, 1938) when Nazi Germany started a pogrom against the Jewish people.

The exhibition consists of posters that, in the words of its author Eli Tauber, were originally meant to be arranged in an order, but as they portray the “rampage of that night”, it was necessary to show them like that. In this way, he said, he achieved a certain dynamics of the exhibition.

“We have decided that the exhibition will go on for the year as a warning and a story about the Holocaust. The real beginning of the Holocaust was in 1938, the unscrupulous campaign of persecution against Jews and their property, as well as their disenfranchisement as German citizens. This is what we have tried to show with this exhibition,” he said.

The exhibition was set up in cooperation with the “Museum of Sarajevo” and will be open until November 10 when the “Crystal Night” happened 80 years ago.
