SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) – According to the preliminary data of the Central Bank of BiH, direct foreign investments in BiH in the first three quarters of 2017 amounted to 630.8 million or 322.5 million euros, Foreign Investment Promotion Agency in BiH (FIPA) told FENA.
They emphasized there was an increase of foreign investments by 60.6 percent in the period January-September 2017 compared to the same period in 2016.
During these nine months of 2017, most investments were registered from Switzerland, Slovenia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bulgaria, Italy and Germany.
Central Bank of BiH will publish official data on direct foreign investments for 2017 in August 2018, as well as revised data for previous years.
Considering preliminary data and based on projects that are being implemented and announced interest of foreign investors, FIPA is optimistic in terms of growth of direct foreign investments in the upcoming period.
FIPA emphasized that foreign investors are showing great interest for investing in BiH, and it is also important to mention the existing investors who are reinvesting in BiH (Swisslion, Kolektor Laktaši, Boxmark Lukavac, Cement Factory Lukavac and others).
