BRCKO, Jan. 30 (FENA) – After announcing his decision yesterday to leave the HDZ BiH and the caucus of the party's deputies to the Assembly of Brcko District, Tomislav Stjepanovic, with the new party colleagues and the assembly coalition partners spoke today on the matter with the Speaker of the Brcko District Assembly, Esed Kadric, and BD Mayor Sinisa Milic.
After leaving the HDZ BiH, Stjepanovic joined the HDZ 1990 and as an independent deputy joined the HSS 'Stjepan Radic' caucus at the Brcko District Assembly.
So Brcko District branch of HDZ BiH has remained with two deputies, which is not enough to make crucial decisions and adopt laws at the Brcko District Assembly.
To remind, the Brcko District Statute provides for adoption of the important laws, or the Budget, if more than 50% of the deputies of the constituent peoples vote for them. Given that Croats have five deputies in the Brcko Assembly, the support of three deputies is needed, and now there are just 3 members of the HSS 'Stjepan Radic' caucus .
- Today we have informed the Brcko Mayor and Speaker of the Assembly on new political reality in the Brcko Assembly when it comes to the Croatian majority. We expect them to accept this reality as soon as possible and abide by the Statute and the laws of the Brcko District - said Dragan Pranjic, a member of the Brcko District Municipal Board of HDZ 1990.
