SARAJEVO, February 7 (FENA) - The FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said today that the Federation of BiH must have an alternative gas supply, as economic and political blockades can occur at certain situations.

Minister Džindić commented on the information released in the media on the possible suspension of gas supply to the Federation of BiH from RS, saying that they held an urgent meeting with the BH-Gas Supervisory Board and the management, demanding that the problem be resolved within 30 days, otherwise they will have no option but to dismiss the management of the enterprise.

“What has been agreed upon by the BH-Gas under the annex to the agreement from March 2015 must be paid immediately. But, what is controversial is one-sided increase in the price of Sarajevo-Gas, East Sarajevo that came after that and this must be dealt with.

There must be an explanation as to why there was an increase in price. I support the BH-Gas management when they say that they cannot accept an enormous price increase without explanation, but I do not accept that they have ceased paying the contracted obligations. Obligations must be executed,” emphasized Džindić.

Minister Džindić today presented the work results for 2017 and plans for 2018, saying that the Government of FBiH has declared the project of the South Gas Interconnection between BiH and Croatia a priority.
