SREBRENICA, February 7 (FENA) - The Policy Officer at the US Embassy to BiH, Bridget Trazoff, paid a working visit to Srebrenica municipality today, where she met separately with Mayor Mladen Grujičić and Srebrenica Municipal Assembly President Alija Tabaković.
The participants of the meetings discussed the political situation and development projects in this municipality.
“I said we had a turbulent political situation and that everything has stabilized,” said Mr. Grujičić.
Speaking about the realization of projects financed by the funds of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Mayor expressed the expectation that they would all be completed by March 11, or until the Municipality Day.
Srebrenica Municipal Assembly President Alija Tabaković says the US Embassy representative was interested in political relations between Bosniaks and Serbs.
“The political situation at this point is no better than before. We did everything in our power, but unfortunately, we did not have the support of the Mayor's cabinet and we reached a situation where we did not know who was siding with whom,” said Mr. Tabaković.
He said that the Bosniaks were prepared to do everything in their power to preserve the assembly majority.
“It is up to the Mayor to do the job he is in charge of, and the Assembly is responsible for doing its job. We want to be a factor of peace and good relations between Bosniaks and Serbs in Srebrenica,” said Mr. Tabaković.
