SARAJEVO, February 9 (FENA) - Representatives of 20 non-governmental organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, assisting children and young people, today were given checks in the total amount of 200,000 KM, raised during the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar held in Sarajevo in December last year.
The checks were handed by the members of the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar Caroline Ferguson and Martina Klisović (Great Britain), Sandra Horowitz (United States), Annarita Lippiello (Italy) and Zsofina Kuzsenda (Delegation of the European Union).
The wife of the British Ambassador to BiH, Caroline Ferguson, at today's press conference in Sarajevo stressed that last year's Bazaar, which was attended by nearly 40 embassies and about 70 local non-governmental organizations, was extremely successful and managed to raise 200,000 KM, much more than was expected.
Some of the organizations that were delivered checks today are SOS Children's Village of BiH, Prijateljska kuća (transl. “Friendly House”) in Doboj, Center for Children and Youth with Special Needs “Ros Rosales” Mostar, Service Center for Supporting Families of Children and People with Developmental Disabilities “Dajte nam šansu” (transl. “Give Us a Chance”) from Sarajevo, the Parenting House in Sarajevo that provides accommodation for children with cancer and their families, as well as the Children's Center “Duje” from Doboj and “Tračak nade” (“Glimmer of Hope”) from Foča.
All these organizations work with children and young people and are completely inclusive in their work and assist all children equally.
