SARAJEVO, February 11 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić said yesterday that a new tranche of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is part of the FBiH budget revenues and is intended for general consumption.
"The IMF tranche will be used for the support to the budget, while other means of financial support are there for the energy, development or agriculture sectors," he explained.
If there were no IMF tranche, Novalić said that FBiH would issue bonds, treasury bills, or borrowed the money on the market.
The Executive Board of the IMF on Friday concluded the first overview of the economic performance of BiH under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and BiH received 63.4 million SDR (about EUR 74.6 million), making the total amount of the funds currently disbursed to SDR 126.8 million (EUR 149.3 million).
As announced by the IMF Resident Representative's Office, the Executive Board approved a three-year arrangement under the EFF for BiH on 7 November 2016 in the amount of 443,042 million SDR (approximately EUR 533.3 million at the time the arrangement was approved).
