SARAJEVO, April 23 (FENA) - The Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna Hrizostom today sent out a message from the headquarters of the Metropolitanate in Sarajevo, and among other things stressed that Easter is not just a feast of joy, but also that it asks for our responsibility.
“Our Easter joy and richness of this holiday is spoilt by the difficult situation of our faithful, as well as the rest of the people who live with us and are merely surviving at moments, and these are difficult moments of our reality. We are all concerned and disappointed by the emergence of the neglect and irresponsibility of those to whom we trusted to lead this country," he stressed.
He appealed to those in power to start thinking about us, ordinary citizens and people, to start solving the burning issues of this society.
“We are particularly disappointed with the increasing number of closed homes, empty villages and increasingly empty cities. Because of the lack of responsibility for others, we have, as it happened before, spread out into the world away from our home,” pointed out Metropolitan Hrizostom.
“You love your homeland not just in wars and songs. You have to love it always. We must not allow for anyone or anybody to make us hate our homeland,” he stressed.
He believes that 'every authority must know that he is a servant of his country and of his people. It is the people that make a state!
“With this conviction, we remain hopeful that as soon as possible, we will begin to create better and more humane interpersonal and interethnic relations, that we will become more economically stable with an encouraging environment, which will be attractive for the return of all expatriates, those expelled and displaced,” said Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna in his Easter message. The Orthodox faithful celebrate Easter on April 28.
