MOSTAR, April 15 (FENA) - Bishop of Mostar-Duvno and Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkanj, Msgr. Petar Palić, in his Easter message, pointed out that Easter is a holiday that gives us hope and encouragement in this world of pain, sorrow and tears and reminds us that life, despite everything, is worth living.
Easter is an expression of our faith in the real presence of the risen Jesus that gives meaning to our personal and communal prayer, the strength to fight temptation and get rid of unnecessary worries and fears.
In recent months, we have been living our lives in daily contact with death, in all its forms and sizes. The death of people of different ages has become a part of our daily lives. We live in the midst of death, and people around us suffer from fear of the future, loneliness, family breakdown, lack of employment, financial difficulties, despair and hopelessness.
An increasing number of them live and die, not enjoying the peace and happiness of Easter.
Dear brothers and sisters! Easter is a call to the life of resurrection. Easter gives us a joyful message that we are the "people of the resurrection." We are not doomed to lie in the grave of our sins, hatred, bad habits, addictions, despair, doubt, or discouragement.
Instead, we are expected to live a joyful and peaceful life, constantly experiencing the real presence of the risen Lord in all the events of our lives, even in the midst of death, suffering, pain, and the tension of our daily lives.
"Since Easter is a symbol of new life, let us try to make this Easter a new beginning for us. To all of you who open your heart to the message of Christ's resurrection, I wish you a Happy Easter!" said Msgr. Palić in his message.
