SARAJEVO, April 23 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein ef. Kavazović sent out a traditional message to the faithful today on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
“Tonight, with the will of God, we will see the young moon, and it will be the beginning of fasting in the month of Ramadan, the month of God's grace, forgiveness and salvation,” said Kavazović.
He recalled that this Ramadan comes at a time when everyone will need to show a greater degree of patience, spiritual fellowship, and renunciation.
“We will perform our common rituals and prayers which we used to perform in our mosques now in our homes, as recommended by the Islamic Community's Riyasat and state authorities. But in spite of everything, Ramadan, and in the circumstances in which we welcome it, brings an abundance of God's blessing and grace. These days, we see, however hard it may be, that planet Earth is resting from us as well. As we can see it can do without us. From this we should take lessons for the time ahead,” said Raisu-l-ulama.
He reminded that Ramadan is an opportunity to think about everything, because only man has the potential in himself for good and evil and that is what sets him/her apart from other species on the Earth.
“Fear is easily turned into hatred and anger, so we need to show compassion to overcome faith, hope and love, because only together can we overcome this temptation. Only in this way can we come out better and stronger from this temptation. Ramadan is coming at the right time to strengthen our spirit to deal with this disease as well. We ask the God to celebrate the month of Ramadan and to welcome Bayram in peace, security and freedom without the temptations we are in these days.
