SARAJEVO, October 8 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received a letter of credence from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina Maria Teresa Lizaranza Perinat.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the BiH Presidency Chairman Željko Komšić wished a successful diplomatic mission to the newly appointed Ambassador Perinat, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to develop good relations with the Kingdom of Spain.
It was stated that bilateral relations are traditionally friendly, without open issues, and that they represent a good basis for further development of cooperation, especially in the economic and cultural field.
Chairman Komšić informed the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain about the activities on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the light of the recently held EU-Western Balkans Summit.
He stressed the importance of the declaration adopted at the Summit, which confirms the European perspective of BiH and the countries of the region.
On this occasion, he thanked the government and the people of the Kingdom of Spain for their support for the country's Euro-Atlantic path, which is extremely important for security and stability in BiH.
In addition, the significant support of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war and post-war period, through the EUFOR and ALTEA peacekeeping missions, was also emphasized.
Ambassador Perinat reiterated the support of the Kingdom of Spain to the process of enlargement of the European Union to the Western Balkans and the NATO perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She expressed her commitment to continue and strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries during her term in office, stated the Presidency of BiH.
