SARAJEVO, May 5 (FENA) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) today welcomed the decision of the Central Election Commission to call the General Elections in October 2022, and asked the BiH Finance Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda to urgently send the BiH budget to the procedure to ensure the smooth functioning of the state and the provision of funds for the General Elections.

This is one of the conclusions adopted by the SDA Presidency at its regular session in Sarajevo, which discussed issues related to the current political situation in BiH, focusing on the electoral process and creating preconditions for holding general elections in BiH, and eliminating negative influences. and policies that harm BiH, its peoples and citizens.

After reminding of the key issues discussed at the session, the SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic commented on the content of the letter sent by the President of the Croat Democratic Union of BiH (HDZBiH) and the Croat People's Assembly (HNS) Dragan Čović to international officials, claiming that he calling of the elections, due to an earlier ruling by the BiH Constitutional Court, is contrary to the rule of law and a threat to BiH's peace and stability, announcing an initiative for BiH's territorial reorganization.

The president of the SDA assessed that the letter contained a number of unsubstantiated allegations and untruths, as well as several threats.

"It is untrue that the HDZ wanted to eliminate discrimination, on the contrary, if the proposal of the HDZ and the SNSD was adopted, the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights would never be implemented, i.e. the discrimination found in them would never be eliminated," said Izetbegović after the end of the session of the SDA Presidency.

At the same time, he assessed Čović's claim about "endangerment and discrimination of Croats" as unsubstantiated, recalling that these claims are best refuted by data on the representation of Croat representatives in government and management positions (ministerial and directorial), according to which Croats hold 34, and Serbs and Bosniaks each hold 33 positions.

Izetbegović added that at the FBiH level, Croats have over 50 percent more of these positions than prescribed by the FBiH Constitution, stating that the distribution of funds at the local level (municipalities) is two to one in favor of the Croat people.

"Furthermore, he claims that Bosniaks are attacking the identity, civil and political rights of Croats, and we are in a situation where the HNS stopped the formation of the Government, the implementation of election results three and a half years ago. Now they are telling us that there will be no elections, they are blocking the filling of the Constitutional Court of FBiH," Izetbegović reminds.

The President of the SDA assessed as controversial and unsubstantiated the numerous other allegations made in the mentioned letter, including the one on the "political agenda of outvoting of Croats in the upcoming elections".

In the context of threats made in terms of "endangering peace and stability" and initiating steps to establish a new territorial organization of BiH, Izetbegović said that this constitutes an attack on the Dayton Accords, and recalled the events of twenty years ago (the Croat self-government) and the epilogue of criminal proceedings against the then HDZ president Ante Jelavić, and in a broader context in the case of "Prlić and others", where the main players were convicted of trying to create an ethnically pure Croat entity in BiH.

Also, the SDA Presidency believes that the rhetoric, insulting statements and moves of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović damage the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia and that they constitute inadmissible interference in BiH's internal affairs.

Referring to the "Dobrovoljačka case", the SDA Presidency believes that "the indictment, in this case, represents an evident continuation of politically motivated proceedings against civilian and military officials of the Republic of BiH, by which individuals within the BiH Prosecutor's Office seek to change the character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina."

"The Prosecutor's Office of BiH must have had by now dozens of indictments against snipers and artillerymen of the Sarajevo-Romanija Corps of the VRS, who terrorized Sarajevo during the siege, killing 11,541 citizens, among them 1,601 children," the SDA Presidency reminds in one of the adopted conclusions.

In addition, the SDA presidency called on local authorities in Bratunac to immediately suspend the rehabilitation of the Kravice Agricultural Cooperative, which is the site of mass executions of Srebrenica genocide victims, saying it was an attempt to remove evidence and traces of genocide.

The SDA Presidency believes that the OHR, the Brčko District Supervisor and the Arbitration Tribunal must remain the guarantor of the stability and sustainability of the District, its status and authority, and strongly opposes any attempt to end supervision of the Brčko District, or in any way diminish the presence and authority of the OHR and other international representatives in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Among other things, the SDA Presidency session adopted a conclusion expressing support for the Public Broadcasting Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an institution of great importance for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and appointed the election committee for the upcoming General Elections in BiH.
