SARAJEVO, June 8 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received a delegation from the Committee on Economy and Security of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
- The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, informed his interlocutors about the agreed decisions of the Presidency of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH on relations with the North Atlantic Alliance. He thanked the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) for its continuous support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their open-door policy - it is stated.
In that context, the role of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo in assisting Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing defense and security reforms was discussed. The current geopolitical situation on the European continent due to the war in Ukraine was also discussed.
Members of the NATO PA delegation pointed out that their visit was an expression of solidarity with Bosnia and Herzegovina. They informed the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the development of the next Strategic Concept, which will be discussed at the upcoming Summit in Madrid.
- Former Deputy Chairman of the NATO PA Osman Askin Bak from Turkey led the delegation which included the chairman of the subcommittee on transatlantic economic relations Ivans Klementjevs from Latvia, and representatives of delegations of member countries from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey.
The meeting was also attended by delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the NATO PA, members of the delegation from the Assembly of Kosovo, who are observers at the NATO PA, and the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha. BiH.
