SREBRENICA, June 28 (FENA) - The fourth meeting of the Organizing Committee for marking the 27th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica was held today at the Potočari-Srebrenica Memorial Center.
The president of the Organizing Committee, Hamdija Fejzić, said that preparations for marking the 27th anniversary of the genocide were going according to plan, stating that at this moment the remains of 49 identified victims are ready to be buried on July 11 in Potočari.
“Everything is ready for the commemoration of the 27th anniversary of the genocide. This year the commemoration program contains a lot of activities compared to the previous two years. This year, public transport will be organized for citizens who want to attend the funeral and commemoration on July 11,” said Fejzić.
He emphasizes that the remains from Visoko to Potočari will be transported on July 8.
As part of marking of the 27th anniversary of the genocide this year, the conference "Mother's Scarf" will be held for the first time, organized by the "Movement of Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves" association.
President of the Association Munira Subašić, says that with the conference they want to show the strength of the mother and the fight for truth and justice since 1995.
According to her, based on the records of the Association, 580 mothers have died so far, without having a chance to bury one bone of their loved ones.
