SARAJEVO, August 15 (FENA) – Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo last night at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema for his outstanding contribution to the art of film. The award was presented to him before the screening of Thomas Vintenberg's film "The Hunt", in which Mikelssen plays the main role.
The prize has been presented by Mirsad Purivatra, the founder of the Sarajevo Film Festival, who highlighted Mikkelson's magnificence and the skills he showed in all his roles.
After arriving in Sarajevo, the actor took a short walk around the city yesterday, met with the Mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karić at the City Hall and walked the red carpet in front of the National Theater where he greeted numerous fans.
Mikelssen was awarded the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2020, but due to the pandemic restrictions, it could not be presented to him until now.
Mads Mikelssen was born in 1965 in Denmark, where he received his education at the Drama Theater School in Aarhus. An actor originally from Copenhagen, he started his professional career as a gymnast and dancer, working persistently on theater, film and television projects, to finally become the biggest male star in Denmark and Scandinavia.
During his rich career, he played numerous roles, including in the films "Pusher", "Blood on My Hands: Pusher 2", Casino Royale, The Three Musketeers, The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
