Rais Kavazović and numerous officials pay tribute to martyrs and fallen soldiers at Kovači Cemetery

SARAJEVO, April 23 (FENA) - Rais-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein Kavazović and numerous other officials marked the second day of Bayram - Martyrs' Day yesterday by laying flowers and honoring the martyrs and fallen members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Kovači Cemetery in Sarajevo.

Family members of martyrs and fallen fighters, representatives of various levels of legislative and executive power and other citizens gathered at the Kovači Cemetery to pay their respect. 

They also laid flowers at the Central Memorial and the grave of Alija Izetbegović, the first president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Supreme Commander of the RBiH Army, and a religious program was held.

Denis Bećirović, a member of the BiH Presidency, emphasized the deep human respect for the martyrs.

“Thanks to the martyrs and fallen fighters of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have freedom, we have defended the honor of our homeland and we have a future,” said Bećirović.

The members of the families of the martyrs pointed out that the pain cannot disappear and the martyrs cannot be forgotten.
