SARAJEVO, June 8 (FENA) - The Joint Committee for Defense and Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized in Sarajevo, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a review conference on the topic "Legislative framework, current situation and plans of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of defense and security".
As Jasmin Imamović, Chairman of the Joint Committee for Defense and Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, told journalists during the break of the conference, they were setting up a new convocation of that committee.
The goal is to get information from the institutions responsible for defense and security, listen to their reports and consult with each other.
All this is done so that they would know better what their next directions of action are in the exercise of parliamentary supervision in the field of defense and security of BiH.
The Commission member Kemal Ademović emphasized that the directors and deputy directors of agencies at the state level in the field of security submitted abbreviated reports in which they stated the results of their work in the past year, as well as the problems they are facing.
"The fact is that, as some of them announced, the 20 percent budget increase at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina stabilized the work of agencies and the Ministry of Defense because the salaries of their members were increased, which was one of their pressing problems," he said.
