SARAJEVO, June 12 (FENA) - The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide demands that convicted war criminal Dario Kordić be returned to prison and serve the remainder of his sentence there.
The Association sent this request due to the following Kordić's recent statement which says: "When he (a friend) asked me if it was worth the prison if it was worth the war, I told him - I would do it all over again, I wouldn't change anything. Every second was worth it".
The Association of Victims states that Kordić has violated his early release with this statement and has addressed the president of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Graciela G. Santana, with information about that statement.
When a person convicted of the most serious crimes is released eight years and four months earlier than the sentence of 25 years and then after nine years says that he would do it all again, he not only mocks international justice, insults the victims, destroys the international legal order, but is ready to commit a new crime, the Association also states.
"This is not an ordinary threat. It is a well-founded threat because Lidija Bradara, President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sanja Vlaisavljević, Minister in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, support and affirm this war criminal, about which we continuously inform the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which does nothing to stop the negation of crimes and the affirmation of criminals, from the highest officials of our state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dear President, we ask you to use all available mechanisms to protect us and to stop the culmination of the denial and glorification of crimes and criminals. Today we also receive open threats from Dario Kordić that he would do it all again. Please consider the possibility of revising the Decision of May 14 and June 6, 2014, for Dario Kordić to return to serve 1/3 of the sentence for which he was released early," it is said in a letter signed by the president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide Murat Tahirović.
