Five war victims identified in Tuzla

SARAJEVO, March 26 (FENA) - Five victims from the past war were identified today in Podrinje Identification Center in Tuzla. These are Bosniak victims who were exhumed in the earlier period from the mass graves of Liplje-Zvornik, Glogova-Bratunac, Zeleni Jadar and Zalazje in the Srebrenica area.

The spokeswoman for the BiH Missing Persons Institute, Lejla Čengić, told FENA that two minors were among the identified victims.

Vesid Ibrić was 16 years old when he was murdered and his remains were exhumed from the mass grave Liplje in the Zvornik area.

Faris Mehmedović was also 16 years old when he was murdered and his remains were exhumed from two secondary mass graves - Glogova in the Bratunac area and Zalazje in the Srebrenica area.

“Four identified victims were murdered in July 1995 during the genocide in Srebrenica, and one victim Aljo Halilović was killed in 1992 in the Zvornik area. His remains were exhumed on the surface of the terrain in 2012 at the Dubrava-Križevići site, in the Zvornik area,” said Ms. Čengić.

The identity of the victims was determined on the basis of DNA analysis, and their identity was also officially confirmed by members of their families.
