SARAJEVO, May 3 (FENA) - The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its session scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m., should make a decision on calling and holding the 2022 General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should be held on October 2 this year.
In addition to this decision, the CEC of BiH should adopt other acts necessary for the preparation and holding of the General Elections, including the decision to conclude the Central Voters' List as of May 3, 2022 at midnight, as well as the rulebook on registration and conditions for the certification of political entities to participate in the 2022 General Elections, and the Rulebook on the Conduct of Elections.
The President of the CEC of BiH, Suad Arnautović, told FENA earlier that the Election Law of BiH clearly prescribes deadlines related to the election year.
He reminded that the elections are held on the first Sunday in October, that is, on October 2 this year, and they are announced, as the law says, at least 150 days before that day.
Also, in accordance with the provisions of the Election Law of BiH, funds for the conduct of elections must be provided within 15 days from the date of the decision of the CEC of BiH on calling elections.
Considering that the budget of BiH institutions for 2022 has not been adopted yet, the CEC of BiH previously addressed the Council of Ministers of BiH, in order to allocate funds that would be allocated from the accumulated funds of surplus revenues transferred from previous years.
