Bevanda: Bisera Turković's letter is unprecedented abuse of state institutions

Bevanda reacted to the letter sent to same addresses by the second deputy chair and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković.

"We read in disbelief the private views stated in the letter signed on the letterhead of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH. Unfortunately, it is evident that the position was abused in the harshest possible way and that these exclusively personal observations of Minister Turković undoubtedly correspond to the positions of the far-right Bosnian Islamic party SDA.  The Minister is a member of the stated party, and in line with the modus operandi of her party, the far-right Bosnian Islamic party SDA; in her letter she assumed the position of the party’s spokesperson and presented lies, false accusations and political deception," Bevanda said in his letter. 

According to Minister Bevanfa it is perfectly clear that this position is not the official position of the legitimate BiH institutions, but a blatant abuse of the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH. Truth be told, this is not the first time that the Minister abused her position and unlawfully used diplomatic channels as her own to address different parties and send letters that do not represent the official position of BiH, and used them solely in the interest of her party and in accordance with the current needs of her party, therefore inflicting immeasurable damage to the reputation of BiH in international relations.

"In the already recognisable manner of her party, she once again produced obviously false statements and unjustified accusations against the only legitimate political option of Croats in BiH. She is clearly motivated by the fact that this party is using all available legal and democratic capacities to actively initiate the reform of the applicable Electoral Law in BiH with the aim to put a stop on one-sidedness, domination and majorization for which the very party to which the Minister belongs is responsible. In their attempt to maintain the status quo of the political circumstances in BiH, which enable electoral engineering which, in turn, prevents other people to choose their own legitimate representatives, Minister Turković, without any scruples, uses all available means to state obvious lies, undeserving of her position; it is obvious that she holds the instructions coming from within the party above her personal and professional dignity," he said. 

The arguments stating that HDZ is a far-right political party, are at the least ridiculous, and it is clear that this person demonstrates lack of elementary knowledge of basic political premises and political orientation.

"The reference to national minorities is inadmissible hypocrisy, as it is very well known that the interest for this social category is completely missing from all previous programmes of SDA. In fact, the real and only reason of the far-right Bosnian Islamic party SDA moderated by the Minister in this letter is to maintain the existing political worldview and domination over others, including the exclusivity to choose representatives of others," said Bevanda in the letter. 

He said that his goal is to preserve, before anything, the credibility of state institutions of BiH and prevent their abuse.

"I would like to emphasize that we remain open for discussion on all political matters - this was never disputable and it is not disputable now, but we are not ready to accept, without reacting in any way, this one-sided, completely unauthorised letter of Minister Turković which only accommodates the needs of her political party by presenting a series of lies on both their own interests and the intentions of HDZ," concluded Vjekoslav Bevanda in a letter to the G7 countries and the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).
