MOSTAR, May 29 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina is the least efficient beneficiary of the IPA III pre-accession funds and we are faced with a catastrophic and devastating fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina is still under the blockade for these funds, said today in Mostar a member of the European Parliament Željana Zovko, who held a lecture at the University of Mostar on the implementation of the IPA III Pre-accession Aid Instrument in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"I came to Mostar and I also invited a representative of the European delegation, which coordinates these funds, to give me the state of affairs on why cantons with a Croat majority must be victims of the fact that the blockade of these funds due to the behavior of the entity of Republika Srpska actually put us in a situation to have absolutely no use of those funds," asked Zovko.
Zovko, who is the rapporteur of the European Parliament for the latest Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance, warned that in the past period, money that was not used was transferred to solve the problem of migrants in Turkey.
"At this moment when we have Ukraine, Moldova, when we have countries that have become candidate countries that are rapidly working to fulfill their conditions, money will be transferred there in the future, so here is a situation where Bosnia and Herzegovina absolutely cannot sit still," said Zovko to journalists before today's lecture.
When asked what needs to be done to change this, Zovko pointed out that "first people should come to Mostar and talk to the rapporteur for those funds about where the problem actually is".
"They are unable to come from Sarajevo to Mostar and see why at least the cantons with a Croat majority do not use these funds, why the funds are transferred each year and why they are not enabling young people here to use those funds, to learn how to write projects, to train their skills, to adapt to the labor market, what is happening there and why such defeatism and why money that will go elsewhere is not used here," asked Zovko.
