SARAJEVO, May 29 (FENA) - Began Muhić from the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) will be the new mayor of Živinice.
According to the preliminary results published by the Central Election Commission of BiH, Muhić leads convincingly compared to the other candidates with more than 55 percent of the votes won.
The runner-up is Asim Aljić, a former member of the SDA who entered the mayoral race as an independent candidate.
Early elections were held in Živinice on Sunday after the death of mayor Samir Kamenjaković.
There were five candidates in the race for the head of the city - Ibrahim Čaušević from the Voice of the People of BiH party, Zoran Knežević from the Civic Alliance (GS), Hajrudin Kozarević from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), independent candidate Asim Aljić and Began Muhić from the SDA.
