In the flames of memory – 33 years since the burning of the BiH National Library building

SARAJEVO, August 25 (FENA) – The National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NULBiH) today marked in Sarajevo the 33rd anniversary of the burning of this institution, then housed in the City Hall building, when around two million books and manuscripts were lost. On the night of August 25-26, 1992, shells fired from the RS Army positions caused a fire that burned down the National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina and today's Sarajevo City Hall building.
