SARAJEVO, February 14 (FENA) - A regional conference on the role of state human rights institutions in solving human rights violations with a special focus on combating discrimination will be held on 15 and 16 February in Sarajevo.
The conference is organized in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference will gather the Ombudspersons, as well as senior officials of the state institutions for the protection of human rights from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the judiciary representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event is organized under the project "Strengthening the Institution of the Human Rights Ombudsman in Combating Discrimination", as part of joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe "Horizontal Instrument for Support to the Western Balkans and Turkey".
The regional conference will be held at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the organizers.
