SARAJEVO, February 26 (FENA) - A public call for grants under the USAID project "Strengthening the Diaspora's Role in Economic Development of Bosnia and Herzegovina" was officially announced today.
It is a grant program that supports micro, small and medium enterprises, which are not older than three years and have a business connection or are partly owned by investors from the BiH Diaspora.
The individual projects will be supported with up to 50,000 KM, with implementation deadline of up to 12 months, Diasporainvest.ba reports.
“The aim of the call is to secure funds for increased investments from diaspora and creation of new jobs through direct investments, knowledge transfer and the introduction of new technologies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the next two weeks, we will hold six info sessions in which all interested parties will be able to find out more about how to apply, and all information is available on our online platform Diasporainvest.ba,” explained Project Manager Sanjin Arifagić.
Arifagić added that 54 applications have been submitted during the first call, and the funds totaling 391,000 KM were granted to 13 companies.
“We expect great interest from investors, since they have already recognized the initial results of the project, and we had a number of different inquiries about the next round of applications. I invite all interested to contact us, attend our info sessions and take this opportunity to develop and expand their business in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” concluded Arifagić.
