SARAJEVO, May 15 (FENA) - The Centers for Civic Initiatives (CCI) today in Sarajevo presented a report on the monitoring of the work of the Government and Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2018.

The CCI representative Lejla Deronja-Suljić told a press conference that in the first quarter of 2018 not a single regular session was held in any house of the Parliament and that two extraordinary sessions were held in January, in which 11 different measures were considered.

“Work programs for 2018 were not adopted by either house of the FBiH Parliament by the end of 2017 or by the end of the first quarter of 2018, nor was the work program of the FBiH Government for this year was discussed, she said.

She also assessed that the lagging of the FBiH Parliament behind the Government was evident in the implementation of the laws.

“In the first quarter of 2018, the FBiH Parliament did not consider any of the 15 laws adopted by the Government in that period,” Ms. Deronja-Suljić said, adding that during that period the Parliament adopted five laws.

CCI representative Alen Čular said that the intensity of the work of the FBiH Government in the first quarter of 2018 was the lowest in the current mandate and that during 13 weeks five regular sessions and ten emergency sessions were held, of which seven were held over the telephone.

“The work program of the FBiH Government for 2018 planned for the realization of 92 laws, and in the first three months seven were adopted,” he said.

CCI representative Ana Lučić believes that the FBiH Government should urgently hold a thematic session regarding the work program and its implementation, whose epilogue would be to present to the public the way to overcome current problems and realize the planned activities.
