SOFIA, May 17 (FENA) - European leaders today have committed themselves to reduce the costs of roaming service during the EU - Western Balkans Summit that is taking place in Sofia today, FENA learns.
Although the media have reported speculations that the roaming would be completely abolished for the six states of the region, the EU, as part of the launched Digital Agenda for the Western Balkans, said that this will entail “only facilitation of reduction of roaming costs".
The document was published as an Annex to the Declaration, entitled The Sofia Priorities Program.
In addition, the EU committed itself to "launch a package of substantial technical assistance to identify potential digital investments (including broadband internet) through the Western Balkans Investment Framework Agreement and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance.
