BiH Journalists Association-More mutual solidarity and support needed

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 27 (FENA) – Brutal beating of a journalist of BN TV Vladimir Kovačević in Banja Luka is unfortunately only the latest one of many severe attacks on media representatives in BiH over the past few months, Steering Board of the Journalists Association of BiH stated.

Now it is up to the law enforcement institutions to show whether these attacks will become socially acceptable and profession of journalists the most dangerous profession in BiH.

Steering Board of the Journalists Association of BiH also finds it is high time for all journalists in BiH to react and for all associations, unions and individuals to unite in effort to terminate this trend before it becomes too late, it was stated.

"We need to realize that attack against any journalist in BiH is also an attack against all of us and that more mutual solidarity and support is needed, because we are all journalists with the same task," the Association said in a press release.
