TIBiH : Ten parties spend 790.000 KM on advertising

FENA Press release

BANJA LUKA, September 25 (FENA) - During the first 15 days of the campaign for general elections political parties in BiH spent more than 790.000 KM on advertising in electronic and print media, showed monitoring done by the Transparency International in BiH (TIBiH).

Analysis included ten political parties and eight candidates for individual functions, which have published 1,428 paid ads on TV stations and in print media since the beginning of the campaign.

Total amount of more than 790.000 KM is almost the same amount that was spent in the first two weeks of the campaign before general elections 2014, when TIBiH also did monitoring, when total costs of advertising during the entire campaign for 10 parties amounted more than 4.5 million KM.

It is expected that amounts will be much higher by the end of the campaign.

Results show that the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) took most media space as a political party in first days of the campaign.

When it comes to individual campaigns, the most expensive one was Mladen Ivanic' campaign – more than 87.000 KM.

It is noted that monitoring only refers to space in electronic and print media and costs for videos and commercials.
