LAKTAŠI, October 2 (FENA) - The Banja Luka-Doboj motorway, with a total length of 72 kilometers, whose construction cost 402 million euros, has been opened today for traffic.
Completion of the construction of the last remaining section, about 35 kilometers long, with 52 significant objects - two bridges over rivers Bosna and Vrbas, a viaduct in Lišnja, two overpasses in Laktaši across the main and a local road, underpasses, tunnels, was marked today in Drugovići near Laktaši.
The construction of this section was financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of 207 million euros.
The motorway connecting Doboj and Banja Luka passes through five municipalities, and it carries the name "The 9th of January ", and was built in five years. The contractor was a company from Laktaši, "Integral inženjering", together with its subcontractors.
With the commissioning of this section, currently, there are 106 kilometers of motorways in RS.
Director of the RS Motorways Dušan Topić announced that the next project is planned for spring 2019. It is the section of Corridor 5C motorway that goes through RS, from Tovir to Kostajnica, seven kilometers long.
