The "EU Scheme for young professionals in the Western Balkans" was established as a follow-up to the Summit on the Western Balkans held in Paris in 2016. It aims to contribute to the progress of the accession process and deepen regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.

Based on the program's encouraging results, this year again 30 civil servants from the Western Balkans, five of them from Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been selected to be a part of the program.
