PIC SB: Unequivocal commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH

SARAJEVO, December 5 (FENA) - Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović today received a delegation from the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board.

They informed the political directors from the member countries of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council about the current political situation in BiH, and on the process of constituting power at all levels.

The Presidency members placed emphasis on the fulfillment of conditions for obtaining a candidate status for membership in the European Union and for continued implementation of reforms in BiH.

They believe that, despite the current situation, there will be progress in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration of BiH.

Komšić and Džaferović emphasized that in the coming period, the priority will be to accelerate the process of BiH's integration into the EU and NATO, and to implement socio-economic reforms, which will ensure stability and socio-economic development.

The aim of these reforms is to improve the standard of living, the rule of law and effective functioning of public administration.

They also expressed readiness to step up efforts in the fight against corruption.

Members of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council congratulated the members of the BiH Presidency Komšić and Džaferović on their election to the Presidency and expressed their expectation that a new government would soon be formed at all levels.

They expressed support for BiH and emphasized the necessity of investing additional efforts in the reform processes.

They reiterated the obligation to respect the General Framework Agreement for Peace, and expressed their firm commitment to BiH's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Komšić and Džaferović expressed gratitude to the member countries of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council for the support they have so far provided to BiH, and expressed hope that this support would continue in the future, stated the BiH Presidency.
