Dodik: I am not satisfied with the position of Serbs in BiH Armed Forces

BANJA LUKA, January 11 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said today that he is not satisfied with the position of Serbs in the Armed Forces of BiH and that “it is unacceptable that there are no Serbs among the five most important executive positions in the Armed Forces and the BiH Ministry of Defense.”

“It cannot be so and it must change. If this does not change, then the Armed Forces will not function at all,” said Dodik.

He believes that the structure and organization of the AF BiH should be re-examined, and said that he will fight for a better status of Serb soldiers.

“We want to have an army that our people can trust. We do not want an army that is someone else’s, that functions under the standards that someone is trying to impose rapidly, quickly pushing us into some military structures ... I am against it. With this kind of structure, the Serb people do not feel secure.

It is therefore important that we strive towards building a partnership in BiH. The most important thing is that we preserve peace," Dodik said in his address in the Kozara barracks in Banja Luka on the occasion of Orthodox Christmas celebration.

He announced that “RS would continue to celebrate January 9 as ‘Day of RS’, regardless of all the disapprovals.”
