SARAJEVO, April 18 (FENA) - President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, a guest at the 10th Sarajevo Business Forum, delivered a speech expressing the strong support of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region in their efforts to become members of the European Union.
"I like coming to Sarajevo and I want a safe and successful future for Bosnia and Herzegovina," Pahor said.
He added that he believes that a safe and successful future is closely linked to joining the EU.
"When it comes to the countries of the Western Balkans, I think it is important that the EU enlargement policy in the next few years be more flexible, but I am not saying that standards should not be met and that the procedure should not be followed," Pahor added.
It is now up to the governments of the Western Balkan countries to speed up reform processes and not wait for the EU.
"My country will continue to be a friend of the countries of the region in the best possible way," concluded Pahor.
