SARAJEVO, May 26 (FENA) - President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) BiH Milan Tegeltija called Director for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Mirsad Vilić, and asked for security for his personal safety during his stay in Sarajevo.
Tegeltija stated in the press release he did so "after the most recent statements by Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić, when he encouraged political protests to be held in front of building of BiH HJPC“.
President of BiH HJPC believes that due to all current events and especially statements by Minister of Security of BiH, his personal security during his stay in Sarajevo has become questionable," it is stated.
Tegeltija calls the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to take these actions of Minister of Security of BiH Dragan Mektić into consideration, in context of provisions of the Criminal Code of BiH.
"Minister of Security, who is an active politician and direct representative of the executive authority, cannot call citizens to protests, because all protests he initiates are exclusively political. Considering all the aforementioned, all potential protests that might happen after his statements, will be considered as a direct political pressure on my professional integrity and independence and integrity and independence of judiciary," stated Milan Tegeltija in a press release.
